Sandicliffe Partner Up With Treetops Hospice Care This Christmas

This Christmas, Sandicliffe are joining forces with Treetops Hospice Care. The local hospice has been a staple care provider in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire since 1984, offering nursing care and emotional support to patients and their families at vulnerable stages of life.

The main aim of the hospice is to provide respite and palliative care for adults who have been suffering with life-limiting illnesses that are difficult to live with. These include cancer, motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis. But they also go above and beyond to support carers and the family of patients too.

The incredible charity provides all of its services completely free of charge despite it costing over £2 million a year. That’s where we come in, and hopefully you do too.

We’re showing our support this Christmas by sponsoring the hospice’s Treecycling campaign – a brilliant project that aims to reduce waste from used Christmas trees whilst raising vital funds through generous donations. The scheme not only helps you responsibly dispose of your Christmas tree, but it allows you to show your support to the local community from the comfort of your home.

Starting Monday 6^th January, four Sandicliffe volunteers will be driving our vans and making their way around Nottingham and Derbyshire areas until Friday 10^th January. In exchange for a small donation, we will be collecting your used Christmas trees in the following postcode areas:

Here\'s what your donation will be used to help pay for at Treetops Hospice Care:

£10 – a child’s bereavement box

£25 – a complementary therapy session for a patient or carer

£54 – a counselling session over the festive season

£87 – a bathing/spa session for a person with a life-limiting condition

£301 – an overnight Hospice at Home nursing shift
