Sandicliffe models continue to dominate the Telegraph Motoring Awards

Our East Midlands dealerships are celebrating major success after strong performances by our models in four of the major categories at a leading awards ceremony. Sandicliffe saw recognition for its Ford, Nissan and Mazda models at the Daily Telegraph Car of the Year awards this week thanks to thousands of your votes.
The Ford Fiesta was the big winner at the awards ceremony, scooping both the Best Supermini and 2014 Car of the Year awards. Another Sandicliffe model, the Mazda 3, was second in the Best Family Car category while the Nissan Qashqai was runner-up to the more expensive Range Rover Evoque in the Best SUV category.
“Having already won a clutch of prizes including Top Gear’s Car of the Year in 2013 and What Car’s Best Small Car trophy, this latest award is further recognition of the Fiesta’s superb build, design and performance.”
The Telegraph called the Fiesta a ‘sensational all-rounder’ adding: “There is simply no small hatchback that you can buy today that’s as enjoyable to drive as the Fiesta. It feels wonderfully sharp and agile, which is obviously great news on a winding back road. But the Fiesta is also a pleasure on the sort of mundane journeys that most of us do every day, thanks to its beautifully weighted controls, comfortable ride and good visibility.
“Throw in big discounts, a long list of standard safety kit, and strong yet efficient petrol and diesel engines, and the Fiesta really does offer the greatest good for the greatest number of people.”
In addition to the Fiesta’s success, two other popular Sandicliffe brands were recognised at the Daily Telegraph event. The new Mazda 3 came runner-up in the category for Best Family Car while the new Nissan Qashqai was second in the Best SUV section.
The Telegraph accolades follow a number of other major motor awards ceremonies in which Sandicliffe’s brands have been commended. Kia won a special Buyer’s Award at the CarBuyer Car of the Year ceremony in 2014 while their chief designer Peter Schreyer won the prestigious 2014 international Grand Prix du Design.
In addition, the ŠKODA Octavia won both the 2014 CarBuyer and Fleet News Best Estate Car prize as well as the Best Family Car award at the Honest John awards while the ŠKODA Yeti won Best Crossover at the same ceremony.
