Sales of hybrid vehicles in the UK and mainland Europe have doubled over the past five years and are expected to reach 700,000 annually by the end of the decade. Now, Sandicliffe announce that the brand new Kia Niro hybrid will arrive in our Nottingham, Leicester and Melton Mowbray dealerships on August 8th.
Priced from just £21,295, the New Niro combines the low emissions and superb fuel economy associated with a hybrid with a stylish crossover design. CO2 emissions are as low as 88g/km - meaning that you will pay no road tax - and fuel economy is up to an impressive 74.3mpg.
The Niro also boasts all the newest technology including the latest connectivity and active safety technologies such as Kia Connected Services featuring TomTom® and wireless smartphone charging. Drivers also benefit from autonomous emergency braking, smart cruise control and lane-keeping, blind spot and rear cross traffic warning systems.
Billy Wright, Kia Brand Manager at Sandicliffe, said: “The new Kia Niro is a hugely impressive car, combining attractive crossover design with superb fuel economy. We know that drivers in the East Midlands are attracted to cars with high fuel efficiency and low emissions, and this brand new model does just that.
Early reviews of the Kia Niro have been positive. Top Gear called it \'an easy-to-drive, efficient SUV-like machine that’s really good on fuel around town\' while Autocar awarded it four stars and says that as a family-friendly crossover \'it makes a lot of sense\'.
Mr Wright from Sandicliffe added: "The Niro is a dedicated hybrid model featuring an all-new powertrain featuring a 1.6-litre, 104bhp internal combustion engine and a 43.5bhp electric motor driving through a six-speed double-clutch automatic transmission.
"As it is a parallel hybrid, most of the time the petrol and electric power units work together although it can operate in all-electric mode for short distances when setting off, under gentle acceleration and when descending slopes or braking.
"Buyers also benefit from Kia\'s unique seven-year or 100,000 mile warranty, subject to wear and tear conditions - the best on any hybrid available in Britain."
