Hot on the heels of the new Nissan Qashqai – What Car?’s Car of the Year 2014 – the Japanese manufacturer has unveiled another brand new model in its popular crossover range. The new Nissan X-Trail boasts a sleek new look inspired by the popular Qashqai and Juke models as well as all of the flexibility and space that made the previous model so popular.
Completely redesigned from the ground up, the X-Trail joins the Qashqai and Juke in Nissan’s crossover family. The new X-Trail is just as tough and accomplished as the previous-generation model but adds crossover style and efficiency, exciting design, innovative technology and exceptional comfort. It will arrive in the East Midlands at Sandicliffe’s Nissan dealerships this July. Ben Hodkinson, Nissan Brand Manager at Sandicliffe Loughborough, said: “The new X-Trail will bring best-in-class legroom, practicality and flexibility to the crossover segment. Drivers will be able to increase legroom or boot space by moving the middle bench while all three rows of seats are arranged in a theatre-style layout, with the mounting points for the second and third rows being higher than the ones in front. “And, all models will get air-conditioning, alloy wheels, six airbags, LED daytime running lights, five-inch colour combimeter display, Bluetooth with microphone, cruise control and speed limiter, hill start assist, follow me home lights and a luggage board system as standard.” The new Nissan X-Trail will launch with a 1.6-litre dCi turbodiesel, offering 128bhp in two and four-wheel drive. It will also be among the most efficient cars in class, emitting 129g/km CO2 in two-wheel drive form, which should translate to economy of almost 60mpg.
Alan Richardson, Nissan Brand Manager at Sandicliffe Hucknall, added: “Inside the cabin, the X-Trail boasts high-quality materials finished in chrome and black. There will be a choice of cloth or leather for the seating, and the option of two extra seats to make the X-Trail a seven-seater. “The previous X-Trail was one of Nissan’s biggest selling cars and so we’re really looking forward to welcoming the new model to our East Midlands dealerships. It’s particularly exciting for us as we’ll be able to show drivers the new model not only in our Loughborough and Hucknall showrooms but also in our brand new, state of the art 4-storey Nissan dealership on Abbeyfeld Road in Nottingham. Our new facility will open this July to coincide with the launch of this brilliant new crossover.” For more information about the new Nissan X-Trail or to book a test drive, call Sandicliffe now on 0800 988 7000 or visit the showrooms in Nottingham or Loughborough.
