New Leicester Motability expert celebrates 100 days of success

For 35 years, the Motability scheme has helped disabled people with their mobility needs. Over three million cars and other vehicles have been provided since the scheme launched in 1978 and now, a Leicester expert is celebrating 100 days of success in his new Motability role. Scott Smith recently joined Sandicliffe’s Ford Motability team in Leicester. With 28 years of experience on hand to help him in his new role, Scott has already helped dozens of customers with their Motability needs and is the newest member of a three strong Motability team who have won countless awards for their excellent sales and service. Scott said: “I was a primary school teacher for ten years but decided I wanted a complete career change. Once I’d come down to Sandicliffe and found out more about the role I couldn’t wait to get started and the first 100 days have been absolutely brilliant. “It isn’t an exaggeration to say that the Motability scheme is absolutely life-changing for many people. I’ve been amazed by how many of our customers depend on the cars we provide and by the diverse range of people who are eligible for the scheme. For me, the ability to help people by getting them the right new Ford for their needs is the best part of the job.” If you receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement, Motability lets you exchange part or all of your allowance for a new car of your choice. Our Leicester Ford Motability team is headed by Nik Gokani who has 19 years experience. His colleague Darren Smith has been at Sandicliffe for 9 years and, between them, the team have racked up a wide range of awards including a Ford Chairman’s Award and a commendation by Motability Operations in 2012.
