The Japanese car manufacturer has been recognised at this year’s World Car Awards as the Mazda3 and Mazda CX-30 make it to the top 3 finalists for the main award – 2020 World Car of the Year. This comes after the Mazda3 was awarded Small Hatch of the Year at the 2020 UK Car of the Year awards and both Mazda vehicles achieved the maximum 5-star NCAP safety rating. The All-New Mazda CX-30 went one step further and broke world records when it was named the safest car in the world (NCAP).
Mazda CX-30: Safest car in the world
The Mazda3 is also flying the flag for Mazda in the category for World Car Design of the Year where it is up against the likes of the Porsche Taycan and Peugeot 208.
Mazda3: Award-winning hatchback
It’s not the first time Mazda has been acclaimed in the World Car Awards - the Mazda MX-5 took home the main award trophy along with World Car Design of the Year in 2016 and the Mazda2 won World Car of the Year before that in 2008.
We’re confident Mazda can get its name back on the trophy board this year. The brand is at its best thanks to revolutionary Skyactiv-X engine technology and superior design strategy amongst other factors.
