Mazda has recently published its Sustainability Report for 2021. Based on the findings, they have announced plans to reach carbon neutrality by 2050. Find out what they’re planning!
Mazda has recently announced its plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. These plans come as a consequence of their Sustainability Report for 2021 and include a range of new electrified vehicles. Published earlier this month, Mazda will use their findings to formulate an entirely new sustainability policy. They have also identified the social issues that they aim to address throughout the business.
Mazda will carry out initiatives to challenge eight sustainability themes under three key pillars: Earth, People and Society. This allows Mazda to have as much environmental impact as possible. They will also release several electric vehicles during 2022 to get the ball rolling and help their drivers join them in a greener future. These changes are designed to help Mazda achieve the lofty goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
Mazda already offers a number of electric cars that will help them achieve their aim of carbon neutrality by 2050. This includes the incredible Mazda3, Mazda CX-30 and Mazda MX-30. These vehicles have already helped many drivers become more eco-friendly. There are three different electric drivetrains featured in the Mazda range. Discover them all below!
The Mazda M Hybrid range contains the Mazda2, Mazda3, and Mazda CX-30. M hybrid technology combines a conventional combustion engine with a powerful electric battery and motor. This helps you to become less reliant on fossil fuels as your electric power is supporting the engine with running the car. The electric motor can recover energy from braking, meaning you never have to plug in to benefit from electrification.
All-electric Mazda cars are the most environmentally friendly Mazda driving options. The MX-30 is the very first fully electric car in the Mazda range, and it offers you completely emission free motoring. You can charge your all-electric Mazda by plugging in to a dedicated charging point or by using your own mains power. With no need for fuelling up with petrol or diesel, these vehicles can also lower your fuel bills significantly.
Mazda is also set to start offering a range of PHEVs (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles). The first plugin hybrid in the Mazda range, the Mazda CX-60, will arrive at Sandicliffe dealerships later this year. PHEVs work like conventional hybrid cars and share the load between a combustion engine and a motor. However, the battery in a PHEV is larger, meaning you need to plug it in to charge. You can then drive on electric-only power over short distances.
To kick start its all-new sustainability plans, Mazda is soon to release two fantastic new vehicles. With electric drivetrains and state-of-the-art technology, these new cars are here to future-proof your Mazda driving.
