Huge Turnout In Leicester For The Launch Of New Ford Store

An estimated 1,200 people joined sports stars and other special guests in Leicester to officially open our state-of-the-art car dealership. Sandicliffe’s new Ford Store on Welford Road is the first of its kind in the Midlands and represents the future of how new car dealerships could look over the next few years.

We have invested £1.5 million in the new Ford Store which is one of only a handful of such centres in the UK. Set on two floors, the new Ford Store offers a huge choice of new cars and commercial vehicles, a servicing and MOT centre and used car sales. The striking glass-fronted building is a welcome addition to the Leicester skyline and has been a year in development and construction.

Reg Tutt, Managing Director of Sandicliffe, said: “Over the last year we’ve invested over a million pounds to build the region’s first Ford Store. It is a totally new car buying concept and is designed to give you a completely immersive and interactive car-buying experience".

“You can now customise your new Ford using tablet technology and a giant screen while the showroom’s different ‘zones’ allow you to explore different makes and models. From the new Mustang to Ford’s premium Vignale range the centre allows you to come and see what Ford can do for you.”

A dedicated launch weekend featured a range of events and we welcomed some very special guests. Leicester City football legend Steve Walsh signed copies of his book while Leicester Tigers coach Richard Cockerill brought some of his squad to Welford Road. Visitors were also treated to displays by the Leicester Riders basketball team who brought a basket and balls to the centre to show off their talents.

Senior figures from Ford were also on hand to officially launch the Ford Store. Andy Barratt, Ford of Britain’s Sales Director called the new Sandicliffe Ford Store “simply the most impressive Ford dealership I have ever visited.”

As well as the official launch event visitors were also able to see the brand new Ford Focus and Ford Mondeo at close quarters. The Sandicliffe team also conducted dozens of new car demonstrations as part of Ford’s Tech Live weekend.
