Coming Soon: Ford’s All-New Electric Mustang Inspired SUV
On the 6th of September Ford gave us a glimpse of their first electric Mustang-inspired performance vehicle.
October 25, 2019
A new dedicated EV platform has been created for the production and it’s expected to have a range of 300 miles ( around 482 Kilometres) that’s good enough to get you from Nottingham to London and back and still have around 50 miles left! From the image they provided we can see that the body shape and especially the shape of the rear lights resemble the Ford Mustang.
To stand out from the numerous amount of all-electric SUV / Crossovers expected to arrive by 2020, Ford has decided to create an all-electric performance model infused in an SUV with the performance and style of the Mustang.
Darren Palmer - Ford Team Edison Global Product Development Director said “earlier this year I received a call that would challenge everything I thought I knew about Ford and our future. I was asked to lead product development for a brand-new team, Ford Team Edison, focusing exclusively on electrified vehicles for both Ford and Lincoln. And to be successful, this new team had to be willing to challenge every truth and every process we had developed over the course of our careers.”
Right now, no other features have been confirmed however we do know that this new vehicle will use a lithium-ion battery to power it.
