Ford Performance Thrill Therapy
Did you miss out on the biggest Ford Performance events of the summer? Catch up with all you missed now.
August 22, 2019
Our Ford Performance events proved to be a real crowd pleaser over the weekend, and we couldn’t have been happier with the turnout at both of our Nottingham and Leicester FordStores.
Were you lucky enough to witness the brilliance of our Ford Performance range? If you couldn’t make it down to one of our events, don’t worry! Our FordStore teams have done you the favour of capturing the very best Performance Fords of our collection and sharing them with you here:
Next up we have the 2000 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. A high-performance variant of the Mustang collection, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 sits at the top of the range and was fine-tuned by Shelby American for rapid driving dynamics. The model never made it to European production which made it even more exclusive and desirable to Performance enthusiasts due to import requirements from the United States. We’re thrilled to have had the pleasure of housing such a unique Performance Ford over the weekend!
Talking of exclusive Performance Fords… The notorious Ford GT supercar made a gripping appearance at our event, and rightfully so. The Ford GT recollects Ford’s fascinating and historically significant racecar - the Ford GT40 - a monumental success and four-time consecutive winner of the world’s greatest and most well-known motorsport event - 24 Hours of Le Mans. This particular model had the pleasure of travelling to France earlier this year with members from Sandicliffe to attend the 2019 Le Mans racing event – what a dream!
But our event wasn’t just a display of Mustangs and GTs… Also on show was the highly popular Ford Escort RS2000. One of the very first RS models to have been produced by Ford which paved the way for more modern RS models such as the Ford Focus RS, but more about that later… The Ford Escort RS2000 was used as the basis for Ford’s Group B rally car and remains a classic example in the history of Ford’s Performance Car and Motorsport division to this day.
Now going back to something we mentioned earlier - the Ford Focus RS. Here we have the second-generation Focus RS (MKII) in a distinctive kiwi-green paintjob sure to turn heads wherever it goes. The Focus RS has been a very popular Performance Ford over the years and fanatics were especially ecstatic to see one amidst our show-stopping line-up. Many Focus RS models commonly find themselves paired with Mountune Performance upgrades and just days ago it was announced that the latest Focus RS will receive a 513bhp Mountune makeover!
If you fancy getting behind the wheel of a Performance Ford yourself, why not check out some of the exhilarating models we have in store and ready to buy?
It wouldn’t be right to have a Ford Performance show without some of the latest of the range… Lo and behold, the 2020 New Ford Mustang! Whether you choose the 2.3-litre award-winning EcoBoost engine or dial things up a notch with the dual-fuel, high-performance 5.0-litre V8 engine, you can be sure to expect razor-sharp precision and pulse-racing driving dynamics.
If you’re searching for more bulk and muscle for your adventures, why not take a walk on the wild side with one of our Ford Ranger Raptors? The New Ranger Raptor proves to be a breed apart from the rest of its line-up with unparalleled on-road comforts and extraordinary off-road aptitude. But don’t just take our word for it… Get behind the wheel of this beasty pick-up and see for yourself how Ford has created the ultimate off-road experience.
Also available is the New Fiesta ST and New Focus ST fine-tuned for unmatched performance. These super-hatch models bring power behind the pedal and redefine on-road agility.
The All-New Ford Focus ST impresses one step further with 276bhp and 420Nm of torque thanks to a 2.3-litre EcoBoost petrol engine capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in just 5.7 seconds. A newly developed, sports-tuned suspension is also introduced to the All-New Focus ST MK4 for superior handling and refined drive. Race into adventure in a car that was engineered to excite.
