The Ford Kuga and Ford Puma have been named as two of the bestselling vehicles in Europe during 2022 so far. Find out why!
Both vehicles lead the Ford range for their spacious interiors, eye-catching design and robust driving style that can handle any type of journey. The Ford Kuga is a PHEV that offers a greener alternative for SUV drivers. SUVs are currently the most popular personal vehicle type in the world, and the Kuga offers an electrified alternative.
The Ford Puma also demonstrated the popularity of SUVs in Europe during the first few months of 2022. The Puma is an SUV with green credentials of its own. This fantastic vehicle features an award-winning EcoBoost Mild Hybrid engine technology for improved fuel economy, reduced carbon emissions and lower running costs.

The Ford Kuga has been named the most popular PHEV in Europe for March 2022, according to findings that were recently released by the automotive market research firm JATO Dynamics. The success of the Kuga is no surprise, as it ended 2021 as the best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle in Europe.
There were a total of 5,544 Kuga PHEVs sold in Europe in March this year. This is 27 per cent more than in March 2021, showing the increasing popularity of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles over the last year. As drivers continue to seek green alternatives to their favourite vehicles, the Ford Kuga is leading the way to an electrified future.
Powered by Ford’s 2.5-litre Duratec petrol engine that is paired with a 10.3kWh lithium-ion battery-powered electric motor, the Kuga can drive for almost 40 miles on electric power alone. It also offers up to 222bhp and CO2 emissions as low as 26g/km (NEDC) when using the engine to power the vehicle.
The performance of the Kuga throughout March is an improvement from February when the Ford Kuga was the second best-selling PHEV in the region. The popularity of the Kuga is something we see first-hand at Sandicliffe Ford dealerships on a daily basis. So, come and see us today to test drive one for yourself.
Further demonstrating the popularity of SUVs in the European automotive market, JATO Dynamics listed the Ford Puma as the 8th best-selling vehicle in Europe in March. This is an improvement on their 9th place position in January, and Puma sales look like they will go from strength to strength for the rest of the year.
Throughout Europe, Ford sold a staggering 15,937 Pumas in March 2022. Slightly less than they sold during March last year. This popularity continues the red hot sales form the Puma displayed during 2021. The Puma was Ford’s best-selling vehicle in Europe through the first half of 2021. It then rounded out the year as the 20th most registered vehicle in the region.
The popularity of the Puma can be attributed to an award-winning EcoBoost Mild Hybrid engine that offers improved fuel economy, reduced carbon emissions and lower running costs. Drivers can choose from the 123bhp or 152bhp powertrains attached to a 1.0-litre petrol engine and a small electric motor with a 48V power supply.
The Puma is a dream to drive. With Electronic Stability Control and a Traction Control System built into the vehicle, the Puma intelligently adapts its set-up to provide maximum grip on the road, with minimum effort required.
