March 28, 2013
After the huge success of 2012’s Ford Focus ST – made famous by its appearance in the big screen version of The Sweeney – the motor giants have followed it up with the launch of the stunning new Fiesta ST. Boasting superb performance, a high quality interior and a price that undercuts its main competitors, the Fiesta ST looks set to be the hot hatch of 2013. The first deliveries of the new Fiesta ST will start in March, and Ford has already received in excess of 15,000 orders for this new car. A 182bhp Ecoboost engine sees the car accelerate from 0-62mph in just 6.9 seconds while the ST boasts a combined fuel consumption of an impressive 47.9mpg. And, prices are set to start at just £16,995, making it one of the most affordable cars in its class. “We’ve already seen unprecedented demand for the new Fiesta ST,” said Adam Ferdinando, Head of New Car Sales at Sandicliffe. “A combination of its superb engine, great spec and competitive pricing has captured the imagination of local motorists looking for a great sports hatchback at an affordable price.” Mark Ovenden, managing director, Ford of Britain said: “The UK’s renowned love affair with fast Fords is about to get another boost.
We have had fantastic success with the new Focus ST, and the Fiesta ST will deliver similar thrills to a whole new audience and at a uniquely accessible price.” The entry level Fiesta ST boasts halogen projection headlamps, 17 inch alloy wheels, a DAB radio, alarm, Recaro seats, air conditioning and front fog lights. The ST2 trim is £1,000 more expensive and includes all this plus leather seats, LED running lights, privacy glass and keyless entry. And, as you might expect, the ST comes with its own suspension settings, including a ride height reduced by 15mm. Mr Ferdinando from Sandicliffe, the East Midlands’ trusted Ford experts, added: “It’s the first new Fiesta ST since 2008 and our customers have been keen to get their hands on this stunning new model. “Developed by Ford’s Team RS, this car boasts unprecedented levels of equipment as well as a powerful and efficient new engine. And, with ride and handling even better than the standard Fiesta, I’d encourage you to come and see us and give the new ST a test drive.”
