All-New Ford Puma Coming Soon
The 2020 All-New Ford Puma will be available to order soon, and it looks nothing like the compact racing coupé we once associated with the name.

First teased at Ford’s Go Further event earlier this year in Amsterdam, the All-New Ford Puma 2020 was revealed as a completely reimagined model to the front-engined, 3-door coupé which was manufactured between 1997 and 2002. Instead, Ford has created a subcompact crossover SUV which revives the name into new meanings.
The redefined Ford Puma is built on Ford’s B3 platform and will join Ford’s SUV range sitting comfortably between the EcoSport and New Kuga. According to Stuart Rowley, Ford of Europe President, the new arrival is targeted to those “who live a big life in a small space”, promising the capability of holding up to 2 golf bags in its luggage space.
The All-New Ford Puma 2020 is expected to pump out an impressive 153bhp with 240Nm and offers a spacious and practical boot capacity of 456 litres (a whole 46 litres ahead of the Peugeot 2008’s 410 litre boot and a litre more than the rivalling Renault Captur). It is also said to have an adjustable floor to maximise convenience.
Heavily inspired by the brand’s supermini, the Ford Puma sits on the same chassis of the New Ford Fiesta and carries over a similar engine line-up offering a 1.0 EcoBoost 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a complementing mild-hybrid powertrain. This engine technology allows for regenerative braking which uses lost energy from deceleration to charge the 48-volt lithium-ion battery. As a result, the Ford Puma will enjoy increased torque (up to 50Nm) and lower emissions.
Ford of Europe Director of Design, Amko Leenarts, talks of the importance “to have a family focus” and how “a consistent look is vital”. This rings true as the new addition incorporates signature features from the global brand including Ford’s distinctive rear hatch design, bug-eyed curved LED daytime running lights and a characteristic Ford grille.
